My Role at OCG Creative
I’ve worked at OCG for 2 years as a graphic designer and frontend web developer. I work with our clients and our field strategists to make sure my design and development work fits the client’s needs, goals, and brand standards so that we may provide the best solutions to their marketing needs.
I’ve worked on logos, business cards, brochures, illustrated graphics, websites, social media posts and more. Each project I work on goes through different phases, which includes design, proofing, development, and review. I take the information provided by our clients and field strategists and work to design the best solution. Then it goes through a proofing process both internally and externally to the client, I then take the feedback I receive from them and go through changes to make sure that it is the best solution.
Why I Got Into Digital Marketing
I got into this industry because I love design. I enjoy being creative and getting to use my creativity to help others be successful.
The Most Rewarding Part of My Job
The most rewarding part of my job is being able to see my work out in the community and see our clients companies not just grow but thrive.
The “Next Big Thing” in Digital Marketing & Web Design
I believe the next big thing for our industry is more inclusivity. The world is changing and I think inclusive design will become an even bigger part of our industry. Designing not only for ourselves but for others, taking into consideration not only different ethnicities and cultures but also accessibility.
Outside of OCG Creative
Creativity is a big part of my life so many of my favorite things to do outside of work are creative in nature. Some of my favorite things to do are cooking, baking, drawing and printmaking, but my current favorite is board game design. I’ve been designing a board game with my husband for about 2 years and we’ve recently started working on our second game. When I’m not doing one of my many hobbies I’m spending time with my husband and our two dogs Pixel, a goldendoodle, and Glitch, a dapple mini dachshund.
My Favorite Type of Client
My favorite type of client is one that communicates and works with us on their project. It’s easy to just tell someone to create something, but that doesn’t always result in the best marketing solution. When we work together the outcome of the project is not only better, but it is more likely to succeed.
Skills and Education
My skills include Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Indesign, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe After Effects, WordPress, and HTML/CSS. I got my A.A.S. in Graphic Communication and Certificate in Graphic Communication from Truckee Meadows Community College in 2018.
